How do I add bleed to a file?
The file must have bleed applied. Bleed is the part of the illustration that borders the print frame (cut line). Bleed extends the design/artwork so that it is larger than the actual size of the label. It is possible to add bleed colors in the file outside the print frame (cut line). This ensures that there isn’t a white line around the edge of the label.
How to create bleed to the file:
- Choose File > Document setup.
- At 'bleed area' (top, bottom, left, right) indicate 2mm.
- Click on OK.
Safety Margin
Ensure that no important texts or (parts of) images are within 2mm of the die-cut line. Because we die-cut mechanically, there's a minimal risk of a slight shift. By placing objects at least 2mm from the edge, you ensure that your final result is nicely centered, and no elements are cut off.
Designs with borders around
Note! If your design includes a border, it must be at least 2mm thick within the die-cut line. A too thin border does not guarantee a good result, as any minimal shifts during our die-cutting process could be visible.
